Kurt & Sally Jackson, First Steps Ministries
Filed in: Guatemala

The Jackson’s have lived in the Old Central American Spanish Capital of Antigua Guatemala for over 18 years. In this mountain village and surrounding villages for up to 150 miles they share the gospel with the children through academics and Bible instruction. For years many of the surrounding villages had no schools and some still don’t. As a ministry they have been blessed to see whole families come to the Lord as a result of the teachings passed through the children. Their focus the last five years has been to help small rural churches through construction, children's programs, adult ministry and video presentations. In 2004 they went further by extending into Belize. They saw a major increase in people coming to the Lord during 2004 and are expecting many more in 2005. Discipling them is now one of their primary concerns. They welcome short term teams to get involved in what they are doing here. They are in the process of moving to a smaller village named San Pedro Las Huertas (Village of the Fruit Orchards) for Kurt’s health and reduced rent.
